This pocket-sized oracle originally came as a set: a box of numbered sticks and this companion booklet. Users shook the sticks with a sharp downward flip until one fell free, then matched its number to a fortune printed here. Marketed as "the oldest known method of fortune telling in the world," Chi-Chi packaged an ancient Chinese divination practice for a curious American market. Only the booklet survives in this collection, its worn cover and taped spine hinting at years of daily consultations.
